Use of cookies, JavaScript codes and external services
concimus GmbH uses JavaScript cookies and codes to ensure the integrity of the registration process and to personalise the website. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your hard drive by a website server. Cookies cannot be used to execute programmes or send viruses to the user’s computer. Cookies are issued once and are therefore exclusively assigned to the respective user. In addition, they can only be read by the web server of the domain that sent them. One of the main purposes of cookies is to save the user time. When you visit or personalise a website, for example, a cookie enables the site you are visiting to retrieve specific user information on your next visit.
Types of cookies
Provision of personalised content
The use of cookies makes it possible to provide users with personalised content and makes it easier for them to visit websites. The next time you visit the website, the previously provided information can be restored to simplify the use of personalised functions. If you do not agree to the use of cookies, you can deactivate them. Follow the instructions of the browser manufacturer. You can find more information on these functions in the instructions in your browser or in the online help. In Internet Explorer, for example, you can customise the browser to your requirements via Tools/Internet Options/Privacy. If you decide to reject cookies or remove them from the cache, you may no longer be able to use the interactive functions offered by the website.
Cookies can be categorised into three types depending on their characteristics and the way they are used:
- Technical cookies: These can in turn be divided into Browser cookies, which allow you to access our website and use it normally; analytics cookies, which are used by the website operator to determine the number of visitors and how they use the website; and functional cookies, which allow the user to browse the website based on a set of selected criteria, thereby increasing user convenience.
- Profiler cookies: The purpose of these cookies is to create user profiles and send advertising messages based on the preferences shown by the user while surfing.
- Cookies from third-party providers: These are cookies that have been written to your device by another website that is not the website you are currently visiting. The term ‘third-party provider’ (third-party company) explains the idea behind this in more detail, as it refers to the actual domain or website that stores the cookies on your device. A cookie from a third-party provider can be generated if the website you are visiting is linked to other websites/domains and loads content from them. Simply by displaying content such as an advert from another website on the website you are visiting, you are allowing that other website to place a cookie on your device.
Third-party cookies with Google
The website www.concimus.com uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookies about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of tracking and examining your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You can refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate setting on your browser. However, you may then not be able to use all the functions of this website. By using this website, you consent to your data being processed by Google using the above-mentioned means for the above-mentioned purposes. Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated identifiers that are linked to users’ Google accounts (and therefore personal data). Google Analytics temporarily links these identifiers with the Google Analytics data to support the target groups. If you would like more information about Google’s privacy policy, please click here.
